Heterotheca pumila, det. by W. A. Weber 1996; Probably a high-altitude microrace of Heterotheca villosa sens. lat., characterized by comparatively glabrate foliage and single terminal heads. Rays yellow; head nodding to erect in bloom. Originally ID as Heterotheca villosa var. hispida.
