Precambrian granodiorite to quartz monzonite substrate. Dry, gently sloping, grassy meadow between creek and open Pinus ponderosa forest on slope and SW. facing cliffs leading to Marmot Peak.

With dominants, Chondrosum gracile, Carex stenophylla, Chrysothamnus sp., Cercocarpus montanus and with Ipomopsis sp.; flowers yellow; locally abundant. 7.5' Harvard Lakes quad.
