S-facing slope on N side of Conejos River in forest of Pinus ponderosa, Picea, Populus tremuloides and P. angustifolia; shrub 1-1.5 m high. With Rosa, Chrysothamnus, Ribes and Yucca.

Artemisia ludoviciana subsp. albula (Wooton) Keck, det. by W. A. Weber in 1991. Common perennial in open areas along roadside. Originally ID as Artemisia ludoviciana.
