On bench in sandy soil; well developed Sabina osteosperma-Pinus edulis community with associated shrubs Amelanchior utahensis, Fendlera rupicola, Symphoricarpos...Soil derived from large eroding Entrada and Wingate boulders on Cutler Formation. locally common but restricted to sandy substrates.
