Habitat: On ridge crest in flat area below S facing unstable debris flow under Moencopi and Wingate cliffs leading to Palisade summit; open blackbrush community in locally barren sandy soil; closest associates include Achnatherum hymenoides, Hilaria jamesii...; scattered on ridge and slope below, occasional but widespread. Permian Cutler Formation.
Reproductive Condition: Flr
Occurrence Remarks: 7.5' Gateway quad. NAD27. Small mats; rays white, disc yellow;
