Habitat: On drainage banks and slopes, in Juniperus osteosperma/Fraxinus anomala/Coleogyne ramosissimum community with Astragalus lonchocarpa, A. nuttalianus var. micranthiformis, Lepidium montanum, Oreocarya flava, Packera multilobatus. Permian Cutler Form. abundant and widespread.

Occurrence Remarks: 7.5' Gateway quad, NAD27. Plants with thick caudices forming small dense clumps of several stems, cauline leaves 0-3 on plants in area;
