Georeference Remarks: Strangely, the collector provided bad coordinates for this record while getting the coordinates correct for another record at the same locality. The present record was referenced at the same area as the correctly-placed record. Georeferenced November 2019

Habitat: Mancos Shale. Almost flat area on barren desert pavement of broken calcareous chips, clayey soil and rock crevices; ca. 50% vegetated with Artemisia nova, Helianthella microcephala, Orthocarpus sp., Townsendia lepidota, grasses and other spp. locally common but not seen elsewhere in [park].

Occurrence Remarks: Paratype. [Flowering/fruiting individual attached to sheet from isotype COLO# 541772, collected 26 May 2011]. NAD 27; 7.5 Willow Spring quad; just beginning growth ; plants rhizomatous, forming dense mats up to 1 ft. in diam.; leaves grey-green, tomentose-cobwebby; heads just appearing; ray and disc flowers yellow;
