Habitat: Alpine fellfield summit & ridge near summit on steeply tipped slabs with ca. 50% veg. cover. Associates include Phlox condensata, Eritrichum aretioides, Acomastylis rossii, Lidia obtusiloba, Festuca brachyphylla. Common on rocky tundra. Lower member of Sangre de Cristo Form. (red arkose sandstone, conglomerate ss. siltstone & shale).
Reproductive Condition: Flr
Occurrence Remarks: Small hard taprooted mats. Flowers inconspicuous, petals absent. 7.5' Electric Peak quad.
