Navajo sandstone substrate. Disturbed area near old drill hole on open, flat desert pavement in sandy, gravelly soil covered by thin veneer of flat pebbles;
Gravelly soil covered by thin veneer of flat pebbles;
Coleogyne ramosissima, Epehedra torreyana, Eriogonum corymbosum, Townsendia incana, Heterotheca villosa var. hispida, Plantago patagonica;
Large clumps with many caudices; rays pale yellow, discs golden; common and widespread.
