I placed the point at the center of section 23 ~3 miles northeast of Empire Pass. I think this might be a typo on the label and may have been collected in S33. I increased the uncertainty to cover the distance back to the pass. RA; Georeferenced 13 Decemb
A small population growing in rock crevices and thin gravelly soil on sunny, gentle slopes at the pass. Occurs with Potentilla effusa.

Potentilla effusa Douglas ex Lehmann. Det. W. A. Weber, Mar. 1998. Original ID: Potentilla rupincola Osterhout. Occurs with Potentilla effusa, from which it differs by being less plentiful, and having more glabrous, darker green upper leaf surfaces, larger calyxes, coarser stems, and slightly later blooming time.
