Open shallowly sloping meadow bisected by shallow gully, bounded by mixed forest of Populus tremuloides-Pinus contorta-Picea engelmannii with scattered Pinus aristata on edges; dominants include Fragaria virginiana, Astragalus alpinus, Potentilla spp....

Forest margin in shade; common & variable in meadows with much leaf variation. Petals yellow. Holocene & Pleistocene solifluction debris of andesite & granite. 7.5 Jones Hill quad.
