The point was placed in Little Gypsum Valley, which almost entirely in Montrose County (not San Miguel County). While the collector said North of Gypsum Gap, it is more NW. The uncertainty accounts for the size of Little Gypsum Valley.

Purshia stansburiana (Torr.) Henrickson X Purshia tridentata (Pursh) Poir. var. tridentata, det. Henrickson, 1995. Original ID: Cowania mexicana x Purshia tridentata. Flowers much smaller than in Cowania, but leaves as in Cowania.
