The point was placed in Little Gypsum Valley, which almost entirely in Montrose County (not San Miguel County). While the collector said North of Gypsum Gap, it is more NW. The uncertainty accounts for the size of Little Gypsum Valley.
Pinon-juniper woodland with sagebrush in openings. With Cowania mexicana and hybridizing with it.
