Vegetation at its head - oak woodland; lower canyon with desert elements; canyon bottom - riparian zone.
With Quercus emoryi and Q. arizonica; including Cereus giganteus; with Platanus racemosa and etc.
An uncommon, yellow-flowered, vining, perennial herb growing at the edge of the wash.
