Mixed subalpine forest and meadow in a drainageway. Immediate associates include P. gracilis & P. pulcherrima. P. hippiana and P. pulcherrima x hippiana occur on drier ground a short distance away.

Original ID: P. diversifolia X P. subjuga....., developed achenes 1.4-1.5 mm long. Leaf margins somewhat revolute. Leaflet teeth, arrangement and underside tomentum are more like P. subjuga.
