Common in very shallow sandy soil on granitic upland, in openings of mixed coniferous woods.
Flr
Greenish phase of P. effusa, looks similar to P. rupincola. Occurs with grayish Potentilla, probably P. hippiana, which has not developed flowering stems yet. US NPS Catalog No.: ROMO 23002. US NPS Acc. No.: ROMO-01470.
