Common on roadbank in oak woodland country.
Flowering stems much branched, erect to ascending; sterile leafy shoots mayn; corolla ampliate, the throat 2 ridged and flat below, bulged above, bilabiate, the upper lip arched up, the lower lip projecting-spreading, the lobes blue, the throat whitish within, with red-violet guidelines, blue-violet without;staminode yellow-bearded and included; anthers black on back and white along sutures, the longer pair at the orifice to exserted.
