Only one plant seen along roadside in pinyon-juniper country.
Stems many, clustered on a taproot; corolla rounded ventrally, the upper lobes erect, the lower lobes reflexed, pink with red-violet lines inside the throat, the palate sparsely white-bearded; staminode yellow-bearded; filaments of the staminode and upper (shorter) stamens glandular-pubescent near the base.
