In large shallow pond with islands of Typha and Scirpus. With Hippuris vulgaris, Utricularia vulgaris, Carex, Ranunculus aquatilis, R. flammula, Polygonum, Lemna. Submerged, free-floating or rooted in soft mud bottom.

Original ID: Potamogeton berchtoldi. Stipules involute when seperated from stem; leaf mid-rib bordered by 2 rows of lacunae, pair of small translucent glands at leaf base.
