Substrate of tertiary andesite. Just above treeline on well developed tundra & turf between rock ribbons streaming down moderate slope from ridge above; inconspicuous; abundant locally.

Flowers green. Dominants include Carex elynoides, Cerastium beeringianum, Bistorta bistortoides & Trisetum spicatum, Festuca brachyphylla, Acomastylis rossii, Campanula uniflora. 7.5' Jones Hill quad.
