Willow fen in alpine-subalpine ecotone with large stands of Salix glauca at the head and enclosing numerous small fen ponds, ending in a low saddle with two large ponds filled at the inlet with Carex aquatilis. A very popular hiking trail to Bierstadt crosses the lower part by raised wooden foot-paths. Infrequent on sides of tussocks. Floating in the smaller of the lower ponds.
