On gravelly slope just above narrow, low canyon section of drainage; with scattered Sabina osteosperma and Penstemon moffatii, Physaria acutifolia, Hymenopappus filifolius var. megacephalus, Castilleja scabrida, Astragalus nuttalianus var. micranthiformis Erect center stem, branched sparsely throughout; flowers deep rose-pink, anthers blue; only a few plants locally. Permian Cutler Form. 7.5' Gateway quad. NAD27.
