On left side of the road, at base of massive cliffs in the first "narrows", 3-4 miles up the canyon from the junction. The mosses are on a few small ledges at the south base of the cliff.
Associated with Didymodon anserinocapitatus, Leptopterigynandrum austroalpinum, Syntrichia inermis, Encalypta vulgaris, Schistidium apocarpum, Pseudoleskeella tectorum, and Bryoerythrophyllum recurv¡rostrum.
