Moist drainage on rocky gravelly S-facing slope littered with limestone boulders. Elev. 11,800-11,950 ft.

Caespitose, leaves somewhat glaucous, male. Flora of the Buffalo Peaks Wilderness Area and Vicinity. USGS quad 7.5' Mount Sherman. ID det. by D.A. Clark. Circumboreal distribution.
