In sandy soil of pine woods. Plants scarce. Flower scape 8 feet high, often unable to support heavy panicle, thus drooping, or lying on the ground.

Transferred from USGS Herbarium, Denver, CO (2005). Originally filed under family Liliaceae. Petals white; sepals white with light brown tinged midvein. Panicle 3 feet long.
