Very steep slope, WSW exposure. Associated species: Pinus contorta, Populus tremuloides. Young P. flexilis in understory.
Veg
Habit: Straight, wide crown, branching from near the ground. Hgt. c. 45 ft., DBH 19 in., bark brownish gray mottled with red, very rugose. Many green, new, and old cones.
