On sandstone cliff; mostly on the level rim, but falling over the lip and developing huge circular mats.
Veg
Original ID: Penstemon caespitosus subsp. procumbens (Greene) Keck (syn.: P. procumbens Greene). Plants prostrate; developing huge circular mats. The type locality was "open slopes, Kebler Pass", but this site is reasonably close to the type locality.
