Habitat: E facing, barren, 36° slope below late-melting snow cornice; clump forming plants nestled among softball to watermelon sized boulders; with Arnica mollis; locally common but only place seen.

Occurrence Remarks: = Athyrium distentifolium, det. by W.A. Weber, 1996. Original ID: Athyrium alpestre (Hoppe) Rylands ex T. Moore var. americanum (Butters) Lellinger. Precambrian granite. 7.5' Vail East quad.
