Locally abundant in wet, rocky subalpine meadows and along steep forested subalpine creeks, in sun and shade, with Arnica mollis, Erigeron peregrinus, Oxypolis fendleri Senecio triangularis, Mertensia ciliata, Picea engelmannii, Abies bifolia.
