Open Sabina osteosperma community; growing on N, facing slope below ridge crest above dry, narrow wash; closest associates include Yucca angustissima, Ephedra torreyana, Hedysarum boreale.

Tepals white with maroon blotch above yellow gland; relatively common locally. Permian Cutler Form. 7.5' Gateway quad, NAD27.

Likely match for Calochortus ciscoensis Welsh & Atwood in part in light of the long drooping, persistent basal leaves and other features.
