The collector point is ~8.6 road miles along HWY 40 from Berthod Pass and 4.3 airmiles from the pass but the record lists "ca. 6 miles north" as the offset from the pass. The point is next to Parsenn Creek which would fit the small stream in the habitat

Growing on dry slope under a canopy of Picea.

Prostrate shrub to 20 cm, multiple branches. Leaf underside much lighter than above. Corolla red with 4 petals. 4 stamens. Flowers borne in axils.
