On outcrop of light gray sandstone, with interstices filled by sand; with Juniperus, Cercocarpus intricatus and Oryzopzis; Morrison Formation; infrequent.

= Oreocarya flava, det. W. A. Weber, 1988. Originally identified as Cryptantha flava; corolla yellow; forming loose mats.
