In loose, gritty soil on steep N facing slope below thin-bedded sandstone layer, in open Juniperus osteosperma forest with Amelanchior utahensis, Penstemon utahensis, Tetraneuris acaulis var. arizonica, Lathyrus brachycalyx var. zionis, Ephedra incana...; common and widespread. Permian Cutler Form.
