Under Juniperus osteosperma in gritty, sandy slope above drainage floodplain with Penstemon utahensis, Gutierrezia sp., Ellisia nyctalea, Vulpia octaflora. Abundant under junipers. Permian Cutler Form.

Tiny annual; inflorescence coiled tightly into ball-like head; flowers white with yellow fornices in throat, lobes spreading to 3mm across and just exceeding calyx; nutlets with lobed winged white margins, none mature. 7.5' Gateway quad, NAD27.
